property Inland Homes wins Housebuilder of the Year 2018

The Thames Valley Property Awards has named specialist housebuilder and brownfield developer Inland Homes the Housebuilder of the Year for 2018

The award ceremony, which was held at Ascot Racecourse in May, saw the Amersham-based developer win the title, with judges commending the company’s approach to environmental issues, community engagement, regional economic benefit, respect of the local environment and excellent design.

Stephen Wicks, chief executive of Inland Homes, expressed his gratitude for the accolade, commenting: “Awards of this kind are always an honour to win, as they provide a genuine seal of approval for everything the company is working hard to achieve.”

Inland Homes is an established land regeneration company, developing sites in southern England for residential and mixed-use projects. Working on high-profile developments mainly in the Thames Valley and on the South Coast, the business is thriving with 550 private homes under construction and more than 500 being built for housing associations. Within two years, the Inland Group is confident that it will complete construction of 1,000 homes per year.

Thames Valley

Inland is currently developing two key projects in the Thames Valley area, Centre Square in High Wycombe and the former Brooklands College site in Ashford.

Centre Square, located in a prime position opposite the Eden shopping centre in High Wycombe, is currently selling Castle House. The contemporary apartments are the first phase of Inland Homes’ pioneering Centre Square regeneration, which will redefine the town with 239 residential homes, green open space, places of work, commercial units and traffic congestion relief with a new link road.

The former Brooklands College site in Ashford town centre was sold by Inland to housing association A2 Dominion and is being developed by Inland Partnerships. The 10-acre site has plans for 357 homes, educational and commercial units, public open space, associated car parking and infrastructure upgrades.

In addition, Inland’s ongoing Thames Valley schemes include Wilton Park in Beaconsfield, Queensgate in Farnborough, Farriers Wood in Garston and in the future Randalls in Uxbridge and Cheshunt Lakeside in Hertfordshire.

West Cliff Road, Bournemouth South Coast

Inland Homes are part of the long-term regeneration Southampton City Council ‘VIP’ Programme, kick-starting the project with Meridian Waterside and Chapel Riverside, both located on the banks of the River Itchen.

Award-winning Meridian Waterside is coming to life, with residents from the first phase moved in at the 350-home scheme. The development is continuing to grow and will eventually host a new publicly accessible park, which will enable access to a riverside walk.

Chapel Riverside, situated down river at the former Southampton town depot, will be a comprehensive mixed-use destination with 400 homes, marine-based employment space and improved public access to the waterfront via a riverside walkway.

Further down the coast in Poole, is Inland Homes multi-award-winning Carter’s Quay development, an excellent example of an Inland Homes community. The imaginative and sustainable waterside regeneration project has been born on a 9.8-acre brownfield site, adjacent to the backwater channel at Poole Harbour.

As the first phase of the Poole Bridge Regeneration Initiative, the apartments and houses are linked to a new public quayside, with easy access to the town centre and views over the Twin Sails Bridge. When completed, Carter’s Quay will contain more than 250 homes and employment space close to the water.

The Inland Homes South Coast portfolio also includes the Wessex Hotel site in Bournemouth. Located at the gateway to the West Cliff conservation area, it will host 88 one, two and three-bedroomed apartments, just minutes from the seafront. The upcoming scheme includes a new 100-bedroom hotel, as well as basement parking.

Essex

Inland Homes boasts a strong presence in Essex, with completed developments including St John’s in Chelmsford, Berryfields in Tiptree and the first phase of Gardiners Park Village in Basildon. Upcoming schemes include the next phase at Gardiners Park Village and projects in Colchester and Ipswich.
