Here comes the SNOW!


Conference came early to Bournemouth this year – and the snow came late! In a highly unusual set of circumstances, people arrived late, stall holders did not make it through the snow and the golf competition had to be cancelled. Not only that but the Zip Wire challenge had to be postponed as conditions were too hazardous. We all felt President Liz’s disappointment as she did not want to let down the people who had so generously sponsored her.

The out of town walk to Hengistbury Head did go ahead, albeit rather shortened as the paths were slippery but the walk on East Cliff was called off. This Walk that Never Was turned into a great morning when members of the Inner Wheel Club of Darlington decided that a little snow and a biting wind was not going to deter them! From Bournemouth Pier to Boscombe Pier and back, with a suitable coffee stop, was certainly bracing, but a great sense of achievement was felt by all that, despite the elements, THEY DID IT THEIR WAY!
