The goal of collaborations such as these is to create strong com- munities and provide ample services for our residents to equip them for a successful future. In addition to Councilman Moon, several other distinguished guests joined the celebration including Fernando Costa, Assistant City Manager, City of Fort Worth; Au- brey Thagard, Director of Neighborhood Services; Teresa Morales, TDHCA who oversees 4% tax credit developments; Mary-Margaret Lemons, new CEO of Fort Worth Housing Solutions; Dr. Linda Parker, Deputy Superintendent, Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD; and Ms. Elizabeth Hatley, Board Trustee, Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD.
The presentation ended with a heartwarming story about moving to Mercantile Square by a resident victimized by Hurricane Maria, the storm that devastated Puerto Rico. Iris Rivera praised the joint efforts of the City of Fort Worth and the NRP Group to bring much needed affordable housing just five minutes from her job. As a single mother, she was grateful for the opportunity to provide her family with a safe environment to call home.
