Island Beats Magazine had the honor of interviewing Kamar Bent the vocalist and guitarist from the Raging Fya Band from Jamaica currently on tour in Canada to promote their new album called Rebel.

Kamar had interesting details to share with us about his career as a musician which began for him in Kingston Jamaica.

Kamar has been with the Raging Fyah Band since school days in 2002 and the union of these talented musicians has taken them off the island of Jamaica as far as Europe, England, Russia, and even Costa Rica.

Kamar was passionate when he shared that thus far the band has released 4 al- bums and that they were also nominated for a Grammy award which is a major milestone for the band.

The band as well hosts a festival yearly in Jamaica called Wickie Wackie in Bull Bay in Jamaica, which has had performances from various icons in the reggae in- dustry such as Chronixx, Julian Marley Jesse Royal and many more.

The band produces conscious content and when asked by why Kamar answered and said that it is the band’s mission to convey good messages to spread world wide as an upliftment to humanity.

2018 is set to be an amazing year for Kamar and Raging Fya as they will be on tour in the USA starting from Texas to California and will also be in Montreal Canada as well for the Kalmunity Music week in Montreal debuting on May 1, 2018.

Island Beats asked Kamar who were some of his personal influences in the music industy and he informed us that he was influenced by music on a whole but to name a few of his musical mentors he did let us know he looked up to Burning Spear, Pe- ter Tosh and some artists from the younger generation.

Kamar shared that he would say that he reached the apex of his musical career when Raging Fyah becomes a household name he also advises the upcoming artists who are establishing themselves into the music industry that practice makes per- manent rather than perfect.

Raging Fyah is managed by Luke Morgan who used to be a part of the Morgan Her- itage however he is now the manager for the band.
