Morrison Utility Services wins an
International Safety Award from the
British Safety Council
Morrison Utility Services, the UK’s largest, dedicated utility service provider, and part of M Group Services, has won an International Safety Award from the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to keeping its workers and workplaces healthy and safe during the 2017 calendar year. Mike Robinson, Chief Executive of the British Safety Council, commented: “The British Safety Council commends Morrison Utility Services on its achievement. Energy efficiency push for Orbital Gas Systems
Orbital Gas Systems Ltd has been awarded four contracts totalling approximately $4.58 million (£3.3 million) by a Tier 1 Engineering, Procurement and Construction firm in the UK.
The four-contract award
was secured following many months of technical and commercial engagement which enabled the client to attain significant value from Orbital UK’s world class in-house capabilities, including integrating multiple packages and reducing client project delivery, technical and commercial risks. The overall scope-of- works is for eight off-skids, including Filtration, Flow Control, Fiscal Metering, Supervisory PLC Metering and Gas Quality Measurement. Orbital will also provide, Electric Heat Exchangers-Control and Specialist Lube Oil to Fuel Gas Heat Exchangers which are providing pre-heated natural gas to the solar gas turbines driving combustion efficiency. Orbital UK will deliver solutions which include multiple high-pressure temp. measurements using its proprietary VE Technology® Thermowells together with its GasPT® ‘Integrated Calorific Value Determination’ analyzers.
Football star aiming to
provide a spark off the field
A former professional football player has taken on a new role helping businesses across Scotland save money on their energy bills. Stuart Duff made over 200 appearances for Dundee United between 1999 and 2008, and enjoyed spells with Aberdeen and Inverness, before becoming the first British player to play in the Kazakhstani Premier League, when he joined Kairat in 2012, also captaining the team. Duff was also a Scotland under-21s international and had a short spell playing in the Maltese Premier League with Qormi FC. Now back in Scotland playing part-time football with Inverurie Loco Works, Duff will balance his playing commitments with a role at Kinect Energy Group’s Glasgow office, where he will be responsible for driving new business and developing the company’s growth.
