Cow Horse Alliance is working hard to bring op- portunities for everyone to show their horse at a Na- tional level here in Ontario. We are starting a

sion of the Northeastern Reined Cow Horse Al- liance. Jackie Bilyea has rallied the young riders and will be announcing events and fundraising ef- forts. The first event was held at the Nelson Bilyea Horse Auction. There were donated items offered at auction, as well as handmade crafts by the youth members and a bake sale. I heard fresh popcorn was sold too! We would like to extend a big thank you to Nelson and Kathy Bilyea for providing a space to promote our youth. The executive of the Northeastern Reined

for their generous donation. Craig Black: Black Ranch in Vienna, ON. Darren Bilyea: Darren Bilyea Performance Horses in Staffa, ON. Greg Crispin: Greg is located in Mt. Forest ON. Chet Martin: Chet and Amy Martin, along with their son Hunter, train horses out of their facility in Arthur, ON. If you’re thinking about getting involved in the reined cow horse sport here in Ontario, one of these train- ers can help you achieve your goals. They’re dedi- cated and a pleasure to ride with. We are excited to announce the Youth Divi-

members from April 1-30th. The bids were entered in the ‘comment’ section on the NERCHA Face- book page. If you’re curious about who won the bid on any of our four participating trainers, please check out our Facebook page. We would like to thank the following trainers

at the Ilderton Fairgrounds. The clinic ran from 9am-4pm on both days. By all accounts, this was a clinic not to be missed. Please have a look at our Facebook page for an overview of the weekend events. Our first Trainer Auction was open to our

a stallion auction in November or December to fund the Futurity, Derby and Bridle Spectacular in future years. As a stallion owner I’m sure you can see value in participating in this growing cow horse in- dustry. We need to drive the industry through our young stock and build a market for our horses. The possibility for one of our young horses to qualify for the snaffle bit futurity in Fort Worth, Texas is very exciting.
