Career networking evening Thursday, 3rd May 18.30 – 20.30. Free for members and non-members

We are delighted to be hosting a networking event open to current and former participants of our Career Workshops as well as members currently looking for work in the UK. This will be a great opportunity to meet or catch up with the extended FOCUS network including former career workshop graduates and some of our coaching team as well as recruiters. Don't miss the opportunity to make new contacts and the chance to hear what jobs other members have landed- their successes are very inspiring!

The art and science of pitching and persuading Thursday, 17th May 10.30 – 12.30.

Free for members, £25 for non-members We all need to persuade people. Whether it’s a business pitch or a job interview, we eventually get to a point where we have to fall back on the spoken word and our personality to achieve what we want. This two-hour session, led by Debrett’s Academy director Rupert Wesson, will explain how we can all be better at it. Using the latest research in behavioural and neuroscience, along with some simple oratorical techniques, he will show you how to state your case persuasively.

The Network Effect – harnessing the power of your network Monday, 21st May 10.30 – 12.30.

Free for members, £25 for non-members Networking is a key door opener to new possibilities and new opportunities, both personal and professional, yet many of us find the process daunting and difficult. But if you understand how networks work, you’ll be able to capitalise on your communication skills so that you don’t waste opportunities or, worse still, don’t even recognise them. Learn the art of networking effectively from Judith Perle, co-founder of Management Advantage and co-author of The Network Effect. Back by popular demand this seminar will examine the whys and hows of networking and decode the mechanics of how networking really works in this country.
