Early Voting > from page 1 wage. Recently, Alston was able to secure Guilford County funding for the Renaissance Center in southeast Greensboro. Tijuana Hayes, a retired school teacher and past Vice Chair and life member of the local Branch of the NAACP, is running for an At-Large seat on the Guilford County School board. Hayes formerly served as president of the Guilford County Association of Educators. She is a Greensboro native and is a 1980 graduate of Dudley High School. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from North Carolina A&T State University wherein she graduated Summa Cum Laude. Hayes will focus on closing the achievement gap and additional funding to help children succeed who are at-risk and not performing well. Adam Coker is a Democrat running for the 13 U S Congressional District. He supports a livable wage, ending the war on drugs and ending mass incarceration, affordable health care and jobs and equal quality educational opportunities for all. He supports the rights and dignity of those who live with disabilities. Coker has done humanitarian missionary work in the Ivory Coast in Africa. He has ministered to children throughout the Ivory Coast and he and his wife continue to work and advocate for humanitarian efforts in the Ivory Coast and several other countries in Africa. William “BJ” Levette is a new comer to politics and is running for Guilford County School Board District 8. A mortgage processor for Wells Fargo Bank, the 37 year old Smith High School graduate attended North Carolina A&T State University. He strongly supports a MWBE policy that sets a minimum standard for all contracts and promote equity and fairness. Levette is a member of the Smith High School Booster club and a leader in the Shriners Masonic Lodge.


ANNOUNCEMENT OF REQUIREMENT FOR ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES


Pursuant to the requirements of North Carolina General Statue 143-64.31, Sandhills Center,


West End, North Carolina, announce that they require the services of an architect to plan and design a General Office Building to be located in Richmond County, North Carolina.


The proposed facility would be an approximately 25,000 square foot office building. Prefer firms with past performance and expertise in similar projects.


The new facility includes sixteen (16) bed Child Facility Based Crisis Center and an outpatient


clinic to include bathrooms, nurses’ station, supportive clinical office space, reception/lobby, laundry room, dining/lounge area, . group room and conference rooms. The new facility is anticipated to be an 1-2, Institutional occupancy. The facility will be required to meet the local Building Code and North Carolina Division of Health Service Regulation Building Codes.
