We are based in San Francisco, California, where we operate the Golden Gate Bridge and two public transit systems: Golden Gate Transit buses and the Golden Gate Ferry. Last year, 38 million vehicles crossed the Golden Gate Bridge and over 9 million customers rode the transit systems. Currently, we have approximately 850 employees. While I have been in the DER role for three years, I have worked on the District’s DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing program for a total of nine years.

I highly recommend attending DATIA’s training courses. The presenters are friendly and very knowledgeable about the drug and alcohol testing industry.
Why did you decide to join DATIA? I was referred to DATIA while atending a DOT National Drug & Alcohol Testing Conference. A DATIA member in atendance there spoke highly of DATIA and praised its educational resources and training. I, too, have recommended DATIA to several professionals since joining. DATIA offers a wealth of drug and alcohol testing information and training to new and seasoned professionals.
What resources do you receive from DATIA that help you in your role and/ or help your organization? DATIA eNews, DATIA focus, webinars, and atending DATIA’s courses are a tremendous help and resource to me as a DER. I highly recommend atending DATIA’s training courses. Te presenters are friendly and very knowledgeable about the drug and alcohol testing industry.
Are you planning to attend the 2018 DATIA Conference in New Orleans, LA? Yes. While there, I look forward to learning more about the 1/1/18 Amended Drug Testing Panel and how other organizations are implementing the changes. ❚
