PLANNING YOUR WEDDING

Dream

Your wedding day is without doubt one of the most important and special days of your life. A wonderful occasion where families and friends gather to witness and celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in your lives. Planning a wedding can be a daunting task for many brides, grooms and their families due in part to the recent explosion of variety and choice in every aspect of the wedding industry.

Never before have couples had such control

over their wedding and

everything involved. For instance, what sort of venue would you like? What colour scheme for the bridesmaids, flowers and cake? What style of photography? Do you want a video of the big day? How many guests will there be and what sort of catering will you offer? Will you have a band or a DJ? How will you entertain your guests during the day? There is a lot to think about and thousands of wedding suppliers out there shouting for your business. The chances are that you haven’t organised a wedding before so how do you decide who to book for your wedding?

Wedding supplier marketing and word of mouth from friends, family and other suppliers are useful ways in which you might select great wedding suppliers for your wedding but what if you want an unbiased and independent view on wedding suppliers in your area and all over the country? if you are looking at a handful of photographers, for instance, and one had won a coveted and respected award for their skill and hard work, who would you choose?

The Wedding Industry Awards (TWIA) is

a client-voted, rigorously judged

awards process and event series for the wedding industry in the UK, established in 2011 by Farnham-based Damian & Anna Bailey.

“From the outset, TWIA was all about integrity, rigour and credibility. At the heart of this were three key factors”.

Firstly, TWIA had to be voted for by past clients. Only the entrants wedding clients from the previous year can vote for the suppliers they used for their weddings making TWIA based firmly on user experience.

Secondly, we wanted to recognise the strong regional nature of the wedding industry in this country. Most brides shop locally and most wedding suppliers only operate in a specific geographical area so reflecting this in the awards is vital. TWIA is the only wedding awards that has both regional and national rounds. Finally, we knew we had to create an expert judging panel. Each of the 23 categories has its own judging panel of three or four high-profile experts making it the most comprehensive panel ever assembled in the wedding industry.

As a result TWIA is the most trusted awards in the wedding industry and their logo a kite mark of the highest quality. The results of the awards are respected by the whole industry and TWIA recently won Best Overall Awards Event (under 500 people) at The Awards Awards.
