Hays County Livestock Show’s


Horse Show was held January 14 in Dripping Springs. Nathan Kinsey ex- hibited Grand CH mare, and Kaitlyn Baker exhibit Grand gelding. HPs in- cluded Sarah Rigby (Jr-Speed), Hunter Leinnewebber (Sr-Speed), Kylie Baker (Jr-Judged & Jr-Overall), and Gracie Mallett (Sr-Judged & Sr-Overall).


The Fuzzy Fun Open Horse

Mid-Texas QHA celebrates its 22 SouthWest Horse Trader February 2018


Springs, AR, finished out the 2017 show year with a bang. The 9-year-old and her Paso Fino, Mateo Ce- lestial, competed for their 3rd year. In the Misate HA, they finished in the top 4 in 3 events. In the Paso Fino HA, Mateo was named the Youth Sport Horse of the Year (HOY) for the third year in a row, as


well as Youth Speed HOY. She fol- lowed this up at the Paso Fino regional level, winning Youth Sport HOY, Youth Speed HOY, and Youth Gaited for Pleasure HOY.

other sizeable donation to the APHA Rebecca Baker Youth World Show En- dowment this past December, again honoring his late wife. The latest gift brought the endowment’s total to $274,000, the largest single endowment held by the APHF. Since 2015, the Re- becca Baker Endowment has under- written 4 scholarships at the AjPHA Youth World Championship Show. The recently-added funds will allow the en- dowment to underwrite scholarships for 6 classes for a total of 24 separate schol- arship opportunities totaling $7,800 an- nually.
