A very rare example, the brass skull complete with all brass fittings and white horse hair plume, the frontal plate of standard outline, the white metal elongated star mounted a brass Garter Proper but enclosing an ornate white metal centre, this being the double ‘L’ cypher surmounted by a Royal Princess’s coronet a further coronet lies across the cypher, original leather sweatband, very good overall ‘untouched’ condition

ROYAL GLASGOW YEOMANRY OTHER RANKS HELMET PLATE, C1860. Of 1847 heavy cavalry style, a large St. Edward’s crown over a rococo shield flanked by ornate thistle sprays, the shield with a bi-metal mount being a white metal star of the Order of the Thistle with a brass mount displaying a rampant lion within the motto of the Order of the Thistle. Complete with three screw post and two double clip fasteners (one pair reduced), the crown with two holes, age cracks between the crown and the shield partly detached from the thistle sprays on one side, the orb of the crown with distortion
