Fall 2017 Rocky Pomerance Law Enforcement Exellence Award


This award recognizes member agencies who have exhibited excellence in policing by developing and imple- menting innovative programs that address community problems and enhanced them in the eyes of their re- spective communities. The award is named in honor of Chief Rocky Pomerance who served as the Chief of Police in Miami Beach from the early 1950’s to 1977 and as the President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) from October 1973 through October 1974. Chief Pomerance was recognized as a in- novative and visionary leader who furthered the mission of the Florida Police Chiefs Association and the law enforcement profession in Florida.
