The Bower House is a 75-seater restaurant located in a stunning Georgian town house in the hriving market town of Shipston-on-Stour.


Shipston-on-Stour is a thriving market town that borders the Cotswolds and is just a stone’s throw from Stratford- upon-Avon; voted the best place to live in the Midlands by The Sunday Times, the lucky residents and visitors to this quaint destination now also have a ‘proper’ restaurant to further add to its appeal. The Bower House is a 75-seater restaurant located in a stunning Georgian town house, boasting a beautifully curated interior with a mix of fabrics and materials, lovely paintings clustered on walls and all the finishing touches you would expect from a dream team of industry experts.


French accent


Henry Harris, of Racine and The Groucho Club, oversaw its launch, whilst Darren Brown, former Development Chef at The Lucky Onion and Head Chef at the West Stock House (where they won a Michelin Star whilst he was Head Chef) takes up the mantle of Head Chef. They’ve also drafted in Edward Cambridge, who joins as GM from Soho Farmhouse. What does this dream team mean for diners? Well for us it proved to be a winning formula…


A warm and relaxed welcome puts you immediately at ease, whilst the décor draws you in, from soft furnishings to floor tiles, you know you’re somewhere that pays attention to even the smallest of details and you’re glad you wore your best heels, although other diners are stylishly relaxed in their attire, they leave the wow factor to their E-Type Jaguars outside! Large boutique gin & tonics with all the garnishes relaxed us as we took our time with the menu that offers a smaller selection of dishes, but definitely the right dishes. Typically British and the right side of creative, it showcases the best seasonal produce available, with a French accent thrown in for good measure.
