Shades of the season...
At this time of year, many clients start think- ing about altering their hair colour.
The shades that looked so perfect in the bright summer sunshine sometimes need a helping hand as the seasons change. So how can you adapt your hue as the weather shifts?
BLONDES
This season, there’s not much of an ‘in-between’ when it comes to trend-led blonde shades, we’re looking at opposite ends of the colour chart. At the top, we’ve got icy platinum – still very current but undeniably higher maintenance than many of the other colours that are around. Somewhat easier to wear are the warm blonde tones beloved by models like Gigi Hadid. Aim for deep golds and soft ocre to echo the shades of nature.
REDHEADS
Autumn is the ideal time to try red, or to enhance your existing rus- set tones. This year, I think we’ll be seeing a lot of rich shades – deep copper and warm cherry are my favourites. Go for a universal colour rather than lowlights; it’s much more modern and a fabulously bold statement. Reds are prone to fading though, so ensure you invest in a good colour care regime. I love Kerastase Reflection Bain Chroma- tique Sulphate Free Shampoo, which keeps your shade locked-in for longer between salon appointments.
BRUNETTES
Liven up a natural brunette shade with a luxurious mahogany tone, it’s the ideal way to freshen up your look for the new season whilst adding oodles of shine to your style. If that feels a little too dramatic, edible shades of nutmeg and chocolate create depth and tone and can be applied as lowlights for a natural-looking finish.
