teaches students about the seminal 1619 Virginia events that are the focal point of the Commonwealth’s 2019 Commemoration. Tese events include the first representative legislative assembly in the New World, the arrival of the first recorded Africans to English North America, the recruitment of English women in significant numbers, the first official English Tanksgiving in North America, and the entrepre- neurial and innovative spirit of the Virginia Colony.

Warner & Kaine Announce $644,000 in Federal Funding to Support Three Virginia Colleges And Universities

Kaine announced $644,392 in federal funding for three Virginia colleges and universities through the Institute of Museum and

(IMLS). The funding, which will go to Hampton University, the Virginia Community College System, and Virginia


Polytechnic Institute State University (Virginia and Tech),
