KETCHESON, Carol (April 15, 1942 - August 5, 2017) -

Carol Ketcheson was an

avid horse enthusiast having shown and raised horses most of her life. She was ac- tively involved In the Eastern ON Appaloosa Horse Club and the Appaloosa Horse Club of Canada for many years. She used to Judge many Canadian Appaloosa and open shows. In the last few years she enjoyed show- ing her AQHA gelding “I’m All Jacked Up” at the Quar- ter Horse shows in Ontario riding with Randy Storey. Horses and dogs were

her passion. She was very active by riding her horses everyday, walking her dogs, riding her bike and her ATV. She was happily married for 55 years to Ray, who shared her passion for dogs and horses. Together they ran Triple “K” Appaloosas in Belleville. Her daughter, Shannon of Virginia, is also heavily involved in horses by working major shows in the U.S. With her husband Mike Baker. Remembering August/

September 1983 Our cover featured the ORA

Pleasure Valley Rodeo. One of the

western horses got bored and de- cided that being a jumper made more sense. He jumped the fence and headed for the highway. He was caught there.

The Boots and Saddle Tack

Shop in Grassie was broken into several Western Saddles along with various tack and clothing items were stolen.

Kit Lehman, Linda Sisson and

Gail Christmas spent a great deal of time preparing and printing off

home with Ray by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was an inspira- tion to many to still be show-

ing horses while in her 70’s and she will be greatly missed by her family, friends and horse show family.

ROBINSON, Bruce Noble - (October 8, 1953 - August 5, 2017)

It is with heavy hearts we announce the pass-

ing of Bruce Noble Robinson, with Krysia the love of his life and wife of 43 years by his side at the Hamilton General Hospital. Predeceased by his parents Dr. Clarence

Robinson and Dr. ‘Bobbi’ Robinson. Beloved brother of Sheilagh Robinson,

brother-in-law of Laura and Jean-Guy Levaque, proud uncle of nephew Paul, niece Nicole, and Alexander and Caroline, children of Karol and Karin Romanowski, and very dear friend of so many. He will be deeply missed by his ‘clinic fam-

ily’, colleagues, and clients - human and animal alike - of the Dundas Animal Hospital. Bruce graduated from the Ontario Veterinary

College in 1974, where he was awarded the gold medal for overall achievement. Throughout his ca- reer, Bruce was known for his deep love for and dedication to the animals in his care, as well as his commitment to mentoring students and continuing education. He was recently awarded the veterinary service award from the O.A.B.P for his efforts mentoring Ontario Veterinary College externship and V-step students. Bruce was an exceptionally kind, compas-

sionate and brilliant man of many talents. He will be remembered for his willingness to help others, his quick wit, his beautiful voice and guitar play- ing, and his love of life and nature. For decades Bruce regularly donated blood

and platelets; just one example of his commitment to community and helping others. Heartfelt thanks to the medical teams of the

show results and sending them off with the new rule book. It seems working with a barbeque at the end always gets people to work well.

My Turn I WON! State Farm Insurance, aka Certas,

sent me a cheque for the $25.00 they short changed me for a no fault accident claim. They had put me into a collection agency for $54.00, without even sending me a statement. I had re- fused to pay this amount until they settled the short change issue. Upon receiving their short change cheque for $25.00 I sent my outstand- ing balance. Then I receive a letter from their

head office in Quebec demanding that I send them a .... get this ... a Certified cheque! They spent more time on the $25.00 I owed than dealing with the fact that I cancelled over $6,000.00 in premiums! I just can’t believe this company. Check out https://insureye.com/Re- views/Auto-Insurance-Reviews/24-State-Farm

As for Westjet they responded to the edi-

torial that they had in fact put $500.00 into my account. I was not aware of this as I have blocked their promotional mail. They did not respond to my accusations nor have I received any notice from their in-house lawyers. I guess they are guilty. Transport Canada are looking into my complaint. This so called ”Owners Care” airline is no different than the rest. All they care about is herding as many people as possible into a small space.

Next month I will be complaining about

parcel couriers and their rip off charges. “Stay tooned”.

Thanks for looking down in this corner. Thank you once again for looking down

in this corner.
