AIDS WALK & RUN 2017 San Diego County’s largest
one-day HIV/AIDS fundraiser, is returning for its 27th year, for an event that brings together indi- viduals, teams, social clubs, local businesses, schools, universities, and faith organizations from all over San Diego! The annual AIDS Walk and Run, is set to start once again on Normal Street in Hillcrest,
following a route that takes you through the gayborhood and into beautiful Balboa Park. March, walk or run, in support for the more than 20,000 San Diegans living with HIV/AIDS and in remembrance of those who were lost to the disease. Established as AIDS Walk San Diego back in 1989, AIDS Walk & Run San Diego has raised millions, with more than $500,000 being distributed to 14 community-based HIV/AIDS service organizations throughout the county. The incredible annual event happens onSaturday, September 30and features an all-new certified 3.9 Mile Run, with start and finish lines at University Avenue and Normal Street. MAMA’S KITCHEN LAST MARTINI
STANDING Returning for its fourth
year of fabulous fun, look for Last Martini Standing onSaturday, September 16 to be held at the home of Mama’s Kitchen board member Dr. Adam Zweig
and Demetrius De la Cruz. This 21-plus only event, features six contestants who create signature martinis in the hope of claiming this year’s title of “Last Martini Standing.” You might be asking “who’ll be the judge of that?” Well my friends, it will be you if you’re in attendance, so come sample six, incredible signature martinis and vote for your favorite! Tickets are $25 online or $30 at the door and include food, entertainment and a silent auction. Canned and dry foods will be collected throughout the evening, with all proceeds going to benefit the clients of Mama’s Kitchen.
