Northeast Boats in Northport has sev-

The last boat has been launched and soon they will begin hauling the 40 classic wooden boats they store. They range in size from Buzzards Bay 12½s to a 60 foot schooner. An interesting project this fall will be

building an Albury runabout for a local customer. They just launched a newly restored

Buzzards Bay 14, which had been built at the Boat School in Eastport a number of years ago. They replaced frames, fl oors, deck and then did some cosmetic work. During the winter they head south and

work on the replica vessel ADVENTURE II. This winter they will be replacing an oak barrel windlass as well as a few frames and planking followed by painting. This yard not only deals with wood but

also would like to get into fi berglass boat- building. They are going to start by fi nishing off a Cabot 38 hull and deck, and presently they are working on her interior. This boat is being built for a customer from Long Island New York.

At Gloucester Marine Railway in

Gloucester MA they have several projects underway. Up on the railway is FRIENDSHIP OF

SALEM, which is now waiting for the feder- al government to fi gure out the fi nal cost so work can be completed. This project began last summer when they opened up her bow under her foremast and made repairs where water had entered. An off shore lobster/tuna boat has been

in the yard almost a year while her owner made repairs along with several contractors. She is just about ready to go back over. A lobster boat is up having her engine

replaced. Another commercial fi shing boat is up

on the hard, which was purchased in Canada, and they are waiting to see what repairs her owner wants them to do. The Gloucester schooner ADVEN-

TURE will be hauled this fall but it is unsure what repair work will be done at this time.
