one after another with various problems. Morgan Bay Boats moved from Pe-

nobscot to Frankfort early last winter. They now have an 8,000 square foot building with radiant heat and three bays capable of holding two boats, depending on the size in each bay. Plus they have a huge lot for storing boats if they want. Right now they are working on com-

console catamaran build. They ordered two more engines so they can see what speed she will really do. Next to her is a Mussel Ridge 48, which

they are completing for a fi sherman on the West Coast. They have got refrigerated tanks going in, the whole engine room is just about wrapped up, and they are now putting the deck down. They are also putting in all of the furniture up forward and she should be ready to head west in a couple of months. By the end of July they should be ready

to launch a 47 foot East Bay, which they have done a lot of work on. They added a Sea-

keeper gyro, new generator, along with new interior fabrics, joiner work, and replaced all the pumps. They then faired and painted the hull. Next they need to prime and paint the already sandblasted bottom. They have a lot of work coming in this

summer. They have an 88 foot Dogger’s Bank in to receive a new stabilizer system. They will have to cut into the fuel and water tanks to get this in. In the fall they have the 90-foot VICTORY coming back for a bunch of paint work. Around August 1, they will be hauling a 120 foot Westport, putting on new fi ns for her stabilizer system. Then the transients have been arriving

pleting the plug for the Morgan Bay 43. She is 43 feet long, 15 foot beam and draws 4 feet. The hull has been faired and by the end of July they will be starting to take a mold off of her. The top plug is also being worked on and is approximately 50 percent complete. Already four of these have been sold. The fi rst two will be fi nished out as sportfi sher- man, one with a C-18 Caterpillar, both with extensive interiors and both going to New York. The third boat will be a kit boat going to Jeff Eaton on Deer Isle to be fi nished out as a lobster boat for a local fi sherman. The last boat on order will be fi nished out as a sportfi sherman.

Just launched is the new BLUE EYED

GIRL, which is a Morgan Bay 38 powered with a 900 hp Scania. She was fi nished out as a lobster boat for a fi sherman from Southport Island and launched a week before the Ston- ington Lobster Boat Races. Down below, she has a V berth only, and she was built light with a cored hull and all cored panels for her decks and top.

has received a new laser cutting machine. This is the latest technology and is bigger, faster and more accurate allowing for clean- er cuts than their old one did. The old one had a 50W laser and this has been increased to 120W. This is a vital piece of equipment for them as it is worked approximately six hours a day cutting laser pieces for their models. One of the models that is selling ex-

tremely well is the Revenue Cutter, which is off ered as either a standard or Ensign kit. The Ensign Kit includes everything one would need to build the model, including glue, tools and paint. This model has taken the place of the Yankee Hero and she will soon be off ered only as a standard kit and at a lesser price. Presently, Al Ross is upgrading the

model of the lightship NANTUCKET in order to add laser cut parts to the kit. This will make it much easier for a modeler to put her together and easier to be more accurate as all of the holes for items, like stanchions, will all be precut. A future model they are putting together is on the six masted schooner WYOMING. Presently they are in the design phase. In our last update of Bluejackets, they
