Maine Flower Show: MELNA-owned. MELNA-produced. continued . . . .


Once a location had been decided, the Steering Committee set to work on preliminary budgets, and an Agreement in Principle for the use of the site. We put together two initial budgets, one for attendance of 17,000, and one for attendance of 25,000. Tose are the target attendance numbers for the first and second years of the show, and in both cases, the show is profitable, netting approximately a 10% profit in the first year, and about 18% in the second year! After that, we again met with the developers, and presented them with initial language for the Agreement in Principle. We expect to get a response very soon! You may have noticed that I referred to the show as Te Maine Flower Show in an earlier paragraph. While not set in stone, the committee thought it was prudent to come up with a name, and trademark it for the purpose of conducting business. We solicited some artwork for logos, and settled on Te Maine Flower Show, with this logo:
