Golden sand, clear water, big surf and undulating dunes

Located on the rugged North Cornwall coast, Perranporth is a popular seaside village with a truly impressive beach.

Three miles of golden sand, clear water, big surf and undulating dunes are host to a vast array of flora and wildlife, with some of the countryside classified as an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Perranporth’s stunning location and fascinating history attract visitors from all over the world, and also inspired Winston Graham to write his famous Poldark novels!

According to legend St Piran, patron saint of Cornwall, washed up on Perranporth’s shores in the 6th Century and built a chapel in the dunes, the ruins of which (known as the ‘Lost Church’ or St Piran’s Oratory) can still be seen.

St Piran’s Day is celebrated in the village every year on 6th March
