is a part of Canada you have been dying to check out, do it this year; consider it an anniversary present to yourself. One Canadian hot spot to visit is Ottawa. If you’re headed to our nation’s capital this year let us introduce to you a couple of special places you may want to see. If this is the year to think big, what about a trip to China? Imagine walking along the Great Wall or contemplating the diversity of this marvellous country – from state-of-the-art buildings to ancient treasures. A big thank you to all our readers who continue to send in photos and write to us. We are

hat an amazing year to celebrate what it means to be Canadian! 2017 is filled with historic Canadian milestones – 100 year anniversary of Vimy Ridge, 200 year anniversary of the Selkirk Treaty, the 50th Canada Summer Games (be- ing held here in Winnipeg), and of course Canada’s sesquicentennial! ummer always brings the brightest days at the airport – especially this summer! With numerous events on the horizon as well as high-traffic days to come, we’re excited to see the thrill of high traveller volumes, great destinations, and wonderful memories to come. One of the marquee events, not only for our airport but for the country this season,

will be the Canada Summer Games hosted in Winnipeg. As the front door to this community, visitors will be invited in to experience a lavish time in Winnipeg as soon as they step off the plane. If you’re going to be in our airport closer to the games near the end of July, you’ll notice contests, giveaways and possibly even the star athletes making their way in and out of our air- port from all across Canada. Beyond that, we have a few surprises in our terminal this year for you – keep your eyes on the skies. Speaking of which, our great country achieved a major milestone this year: its 150th birthday.

We hope you have the chance to celebrate the year with activities, whether enjoying it abroad or at home. Tough it’s the busiest time of the year around our airport, we expect to have even more fun to share with you. We hope you can make the most of the sunny days!
