Spotlight on Green Week 2-5 May 2017


A range of events were coordinated by the members of the Food For Life/Green Committee in early May. These included:


• seed planting where we were joined by Longfleet students and staff


• a Dorset Wildlife Trust stall educating us on distances travelled by some of our local fauna and flora


• Gardening Club working hard on the quad beds • Green Car Racing • Library activities, quizzes and displays


• a Bee Demo with Mr Stickney and Mr Lester showing off the new flow hive


• a visit by Tess Warnes, Allman Hall Dietitian, to teach Year 7s during their Food Tech class. The photo here shows one of their activities calculating the sugar content of various soft drinks and ranking these.


Our thanks to all the student hosts and staff involved in making the week a success.
