The Quest Strongman/Strongwoman Competition In 2010, Quest began hosting a one-day strength competition to support one of our young high-school members when he lost his mother to a stroke. The event attracts up to 75 Eastern Canada competitors each year, with as many as one- third of these being women. Over the years, it has raised as much as $500 for the Heart and Stroke Association each year. Interested in running your own event? Here are some details about the Quest event to get you started.
1. There are 4 classes: male heavyweights (220+ lbs.), middleweights (186- 220 lbs.) and lightweights (under 185 lbs.) and a female class with no weight divisions.
2. Entry fee is $55. 3. Winners receive $500 (heavyweight and women) and $350 (middleweight and lightweight). Second place winners receive a $300 piece of art. Each partici- pant receives an event T-shirt.
4. There are five events: 1. Viking press (max. reps in 60 seconds) with weights from 150-300 lbs. 2. Tire flip (max. reps in 60 seconds) with weights from 550-1150 lbs. 3. Atlas stone over bar (max. reps in 60 seconds) with weights from 160-295 lbs. 4. Yoke and farmers medley (75 feet per direction) with Yoke weights from 350-650 lbs and Farmers Medley from 110-250 lbs per hand.
