PULSE WELCOME TO KENT ANDMEDWAY’S SCHOOL SPORTS MAGAZINE PULSE The Kent & Medway School Sports Magazine Foreword

Welcome to the summer 2016 edition of Pulse, the Kent & Medway primary school sport magazine. I’m sure you are all looking forward to having a well- deserved few weeks off in July and I’m sure in all cases it is very much needed!!

In this edition we take a look at sea sport activities in Dover, our first ever resource review, and how a junior school is successfully forging links with local clubs to increase opportunities for their pupils.

We also take an inside look at what is required to obtain the Youth Sport Trust’s School Games Mark, our first ever conference and how you can quite easily get your pupils completing a ‘mile- a-day’.

As always, we truly hope you enjoy reading ‘Pulse’ and welcome any ideas on what you would like to see in the magazine in the future. We would also love to hear from you if you would like to showcase some of the great work your school is doing or if you have an inspiring story you would like to share.

National School Sport Week 20-24th June 2016 The Youth Sport Trust is delighted to announce that National School Sport Week 2016 will take place from 20-24 June this year. Millions of young people and tens of thousands of primary and secondary schools have taken part in the week since it began in 2008. This year will hopefully see schools across the country celebrating Olympics and Paralympics in Rio for 2016, and National School Sport Week is a fantastic opportunity to encourage young people to be more active and take part in more PE and school sport.
