what transpired in 2014 and give thanks for family, friends, a good job, a defined- benefit pension, quality health insurance and a union that helped us achieve these benefits! In 2014, PEF Retirees leaders


evaluated our dental plan and considered our options, resulting in a new dental plan for the benefit of our members. Considerable time and effort went into this process that resulted in getting the best plan, at a competitive rate and with more participating providers. We also researched a vision insurance


plan for the benefit of our members. PEF Retirees is happy to announce our benefits committee chose Davis Vision to be our new vision care provider, starting November 1, 2014. We are happy to make this new benefit available to our

dues-paying members at a very competitive price. We have had many requests for vision insurance from our members. We listened to these requests and we have responded with a new benefit. Looking back on 2014, other PEF


Retirees activities included letters from me to our members about the importance of supporting COPE (Committee on Political Education) and to our members who are not registered to vote on the importance of registering and voting. Voter records are public information under the election law. Therefore, anyone (including us) may access information on who is registered and when they last voted. The only way your voter records, such as address, can be corrected or updated is

advocate for retiree concerns including a secure retirement for all, affordable quality health insurance, and preservation of the senior safety net of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. It’s an honor to serve as president of
