Then, not to upset her very conservative par- ents she wore a band-aid over it so many times that it prompted her mother to caution her to, 'Please be more care- ful shaving your legs dear. You're going to get a nasty scar.'
Growing in popularity, and one I saw quite a lot of on the beaches last sum- mer is what one woman I met referred to as the Nefertiti. Done on the back of the neck, it's sexy and very attractive. It's hidden when your hair is down and a sweet surprise when you put it up. It also goes great with short hair.

The tat shop has various pictures of tat- toos; the Tasmanian Devil is placed next to what looks like Monet lilies. I find it all interesting and a bit decadent. The place is clean.
The actual process of tattooing takes less time than I expected and there is some bleeding from the work of the needle. Li is great and breathes easily through it all al- though she grips my hand hard. The artist, Rosen, is quick, professional, and a walk- ing billboard for the tattoo business he runs with his wife. When he's done I have to admit that Li's tat looks beautiful. Rosen looks at me and says, "You next hon?"

think about how cute a tiny rose would look on my ankle but I shake my head no. As pretty as it looks it just isn't for me.
