Recognizing and Expanding the Florida Road Team


BY FTN STAFF Recently, we said farewell to veteran


members and hello to new members of the Florida Road Team. Our Florida Road Team consists of 21


professionals representing seven FTA member companies. These drivers work on behalf of the FTA and Florida’s trucking industry to educate the public about driving safely around big trucks. In 2013 alone, Road Team members educated more than 10,300 individuals through lecture and hands-on demonstrations. This totals more than 450 hours of work at 63 events in 25 cities statewide! In addition, Road Team members took


part in professional education through FTA and industry events to further their knowledge of the industry and policy, regulation. Part of what the Road Team does for the


FTA is to be the face of trucking in the state. Road Team members worked with the Florida Highway Patrol and the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles on press conferences and media presentations at various events in 2013.
