As sponsors of our Oils and Lubricants Feature we thought it was ‘Hy’ time we found out more about this long established market leader of fluid technology, hydraulic and electronic equipment.


I was fortunate to grab some time with their Systems Manager, Ged Palmer who enlightened me further...


GLOBAL PRESENCE


Established in 1962 in Germany, the company has succeeded in claiming a worldwide presence in over 45 countries employing over 7,000 personnel with more than 500 sales and service partners – which is no mean feat.


In the early days the company was heavily involved, (and continue to do so today) within a plethora of industries including; power plants, oil and gas, hydropower, pulp and paper, shipping and as the industry has evolved and developed, the wind turbines sector.


EXPERIENCE IN WIND The company gained many years experience in the gear oil and hydraulic oil filtration for wind turbines, essential to the smooth running and longevity avoiding costly downtime.


UK OPERATIONS RESPONSIBILITY It is Ged’s responsibility to ensure the smooth running of the UK operations and projects with a team of over 100 personnel, working together to ensure clients receive the utmost in service and customer care. Ged believes that it is their dedication and experience makes the company what it is today.


SERVICES


The company collectively has the ability to offer design, systems build, manufacture of components, and a state-of-the-art laboratory for engineering research and test rigs. This allows them to provide all manner of capabilities; from rotor bearing flushing and testing to filter transfer units, for filling and cleaning hydraulic and lubrication systems, including particle counter and heater. These systems are mirrored globally.
