180 TONNES OF OIL AND GAS EQUIPMENT IS FAST TRACKED TO TALAKAN FIELD IN RUSSIA


Two of Volga-Dnepr Airlines’ Antonov 124-100 freighters have fast tracked the delivery of 180 tonnes of oil and gas equipment from Saint Petersburg to Bratsk for the Talakan field located in the Yakutia region of Russia.


Volga-Dnepr’s planning specialists conducted a preliminary inspection of the cargo in Italy before the largest parts of the shipment – two 40-ton compressors and a 60-ton gas turbine - were shipped from Milan to Saint Petersburg by sea transport.

PHOTOGRAPHIC COMPETITION Volga-Dnepr Group is judging entries in its 3rd international photographic competition for professional and amateur aviation photographers taking images of its An-124-100 ‘Ruslan’, IL-76TD-90VD and Boeing 747 fleet.


The contest is a celebration of three of the most iconic cargo aircraft in aviation history.


Aviation photographers were invited to enter photographs into the contest of all-cargo aircraft operated by the Group’s charter company, Volga- Dnepr Airlines, and its scheduled cargo airline,


AirBridgeCargo. Volga-Dnepr Airlines is the world’s largest transporter of outsize and heavyweight air cargo and AirBridgeCargo is Russia’s largest international cargo airline.


The competition winners will receive prizes for the first, second and third places in each of the three aircraft categories. In addition, a special audience choice prize will be awarded based on


the results of internet voting. The Grand Prix prize will be a backpack camera bag.


The names of the winners and their winning entries will be published in the next issue of Cargo Supermarket.


Volga-Dnepr Group organised its first photographic contest in 2010 as part of celebrations to mark its 20th anniversary and attracted 384 photo entries from 140 professional and amateur photographers from 26 countries. The contest’s website received over 8,000 visitors from 115 countries. In 2012, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Antonov 124’s first flight, Volga-Dnepr launched its second competition and received entries from more than 200 photographers in 30 countries.

From Bratsk, the oil and gas equipment was carried to the Talakan field by ground and sea transport. STS Logistics, the general contractor for organising deliveries from Italy to the field in Yakutia, and a long-standing partner of Volga-Dnepr, expressed their gratitude to the airline’s team for their expertise and efficiency.
