cargo

super market hello

Dear customers, partners and colleagues,

It’s the last quarter of 2013 and since the final issue of Cargo Supermarket, the Volga-Dnepr Group of companies has been busier than ever.

As you will read in this issue, we have successfully completed one of the biggest and most challenging projects in our 23-year history in support of a new liquid nitrogen gas field in Papua New Guinea. After several years in the planning – including our support building a new runway capable of taking our AN-124-100 freighter – we were tasked with transporting over 6,000 tonnes of equipment over 88 flights in 103 days. And, as we say on the cover of this issue, it’s now mission accomplished!

This project was a tribute to the expertise of everyone involved, including the international partners working in PNG and it is something we are all very proud to have been part of.

What else is new?

AirBridgeCargo reports growth in the first eight months of 2013 while taking on a 4th new Boeing 747-8F to join its fleet. ABC has also recently enhanced its growing reputation for carrying high value and sensitive cargoes with

the secure delivery of €130 million of artworks by the Dutch abstract artist Piet Mondrian.

You will also see that our work in the oil and gas sector continues, most notably with flights completed to three production sites in Russia. Aerospace remains another major industry for Volga-Dnepr Airlines and this is highlighted by a series of flights the airline has recently undertaken for Astrium.

We are also seeing a growing number of enquiries from customers about the door-to-door capability offered by Volga-Dnepr’s Engineering & Logistics Centre. In this issue, we report on one of the latest ELC projects to move a 75-ton heat exchanger from Italy to Russia.

I hope you find our latest Cargo Supermarket newsletter of interest and, as always, on behalf of Volga-Dnepr Group, I thank you all for your continued support and trust in us.

DENNIS GLIZNOUTSA Vice President, Development
