SPATEX 2013 Pulls Out All The Stops

WITH THE EMERGENCE OF A RIVAL SHOW, ORGANISERS OF THE SPATEX EXHIBITION HAVE PULLED OUT ALL THE STOPS FOR THIS YEAR’S BRIGHTON EVENT. DESPITE FEWER EXHIBITORS BEING EXPECTED, THE SHOW STILL HAS AN ABUNDANCE OF REASONS FOR THE INDUSTRY TO ATTEND AS SPN DISCOVERED

ow in it’s 17th consecutive year, this year’s SPATEX exhibition is urguably one of, if not the most important in the show’s history.

With the event once again set against a tough economic back drop and with a new rival show being held in Birmingham to contend with, it would have been easy for organisers to go through the motions for this year’s exhibition. However that has been far from the case. A bigger than ever and impressive list of prestigious domestic and international names as media partners, an ‘I’m Going’ campaign, improved website and communications, discounts for parking and free taxis from the station to the venue are all clear indicators that the show organisers have stepped up a gear and pulled out all the stops to make the 2013 show as good as possible. Yes a new show providing an alternative venue for the industry to consider and taking place just a week before the Brighton event has had an impact and some would say has split the

industry, but the show must go on – literally! It’s no real surprise though that there will be fewer exhibitors at SPATEX than in 2012, however SPATEX themselves have been keen to highlight that the show is more than just a hall with exhibitors and over the last 12 months have introduced a number of changes and worked harder than ever to ensure the 2013 event is a success.

Having acted on requests from the industry, the three day show which takes place 3 – 5 February at the Hilton Brighton Metropole Exhibition Centre now only falls on one weekend day and opens at 9:30am on the Sunday and closes at 4pm on the Tuesday. Once again,

across the three days, the show feature a workshop and lecture programme put together by the Institute of Swimming Pool Engineers. For 2013, SPATEX are instantly presenting a brand new feel to the exhibition by introducing a new entrance for visitors and once inside, the organisers are promising that SPATEX 2013 will tick all the boxes as a complete event that offers a package of unique features and the perfect opportunity for those in the industry to network with their peers. By the industry, for the industry has always been the SPATEX mantra and it is a fact that all income generated by the exhibition is ploughed back into the wet leisure industry for essential promotion and development that benefits all. To date, the show has raised £1.2m and for it to continue with this investment, the show needs to be a success. We ourselves will be at the show on stand U140 so we hope to see you there, but if it is products or services that you are looking for, there’s plenty of choice on offer at Brighton.
