We’ve shown Andy and Vicky four homes on the Costa Blanca. So what is their next move? Let’s fi nd out what they’re thinking...


Andy and Vicky: We’re just waiting for the fi rst batch of inheritance money from my (Andy’s) late father to come through, which should be in the next week or two. As soon as we have this, we will book a two-week holiday in the southern Costa Blanca, while Thomas and Ana are still on school/ college holidays. We want to visit the areas mentioned in the article and to contact one or more of the agents who have provided the featured properties, some of which we would certainly consider visiting. We know we need to visit and get a feel for the different areas before we come close to deciding on a property to buy – but, all being well, we expect to fi nd what we want during our stay. Other things on our to-do list include opening an account with a currency exchange specialist, as we understand we’ll get a better exchange rate sending money to Spain through them than doing it direct through our bank. We’ll also need to fi nd a lawyer who can be on standby to check any contracts when the time comes, and plan when we’ll need to open a bank account in Spain and apply for our NIE number, which we’ll need to be able to purchase property.
