An inland option, this apartment is in a complex on the edge of Algorfa, and within walking distance of the village centre, with its shops, bars and restaurants. The property has two double bedrooms, a bath/shower room with WC, a lounge/diner and kitchen with a small breakfast area. The utility room, off the kitchen, has space for a washing machine. Double doors lead from the lounge to a private outside terrace area. There is a communal solarium as well as pool and gardens. Community fees are €380 (£305) a year. Algorfa is a 10-to-15-minute drive to the white sandy “blue-fl ag” beaches at Guardamar. Three kilometres outside Algorfa is the popular La Finca golf course, bordered by developments and with its own bars and restaurants.

THEY LIKE: • The location in the village of Algorfa sounds interesting and might offer a more authentic Spanish lifestyle – although we’re yet to visit.

• Again, being within walking distance of amenities is perfect. • Being close to a decent golf course will add extra rental appeal. • Having a parking space is a bonus, and again could help rentals. • The slightly cheaper price is appealing.

THEY DISLIKE: • Our own private solarium would be preferable. • The block doesn’t look as pretty as some of the others we’ve seen.

PROPERTY 4

€95,000 (£75,960) Where: Playa Flamenca

Property details: Ë Three-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse Ë In a gated community Ë On three levels and with a large under-build Ë Fully furnished Ë Communal pool Ë Price reduction of 52 per cent

Upping their budget by €15,000 (£12,000) would enable Andy and Vicky to buy this desirable triplex townhouse in Las Mimosas in Playa Flamenca, next to La Zenia. A great bonus about this property is the spacious under-build, which is large enough to be converted into a self-contained apartment. The property is within walking distance of shops, bars and restaurants and only a fi ve-minute drive to the beach. South- facing and with a terrace/balconies, the property is being sold fully furnished, with many extras including air-conditioning, satellite TV, a telephone line and alarm system. Excellent facilities including a medical centre and school are only a short distance away, along with championship golf courses.

THEY LIKE: • The extra bedroom and bathroom would defi nitely be a bonus. • South facing is always good – we love the sun, and this would enable us to soak up rays all day long.

• The interior looks fresh and modern, which would be good for rentals. • The under-build obviously has potential for creating extra living space, perhaps a project we might look at later on.

THEY DISLIKE: • Unfortunately, it is over budget ,and right now we’d have to be convinced we could justify spending more than we had planned.
