Hugh went to his friend,

Wayne, with his little bird house and asked him to work out the plans for trusses. A trip was made to Pembroke for a load of 1 x 12 rough-hewn pine, and the project got started with help from neighbours and friends. Hugh figures the whole

project, including burgers and drinks, ran around $1,500. “It’s perfect for my needs,”

says Hugh. “It stores my mower and tools, but with a large back door, I can clear it out in minutes if I’m working at my bench, or if there’s a gathering to talk hunting or fishing. I asked Hugh if he has future

plans for the cave. He thinks he may add some insulation, but at this point it does what it was built for.

endless possibilities. Me? I’m thinking ice fishing
