This month winners of a fi ne Vintage guitar from John Horny Skewes is a superb unsigned rock band: Skarlett Riot. Based in North Lincolnshire, the band impressed us with their confi dence, superb organisation and a fl ippin’ amazing bunch of ace tunes, to boot! Fronted by singer/ guitarist Chloe Drinkwater – who looks a bit like Björk but sings more like Brett Anderson from The Donnas - Skarlett Riot weave Chloe’s vocals around the band’s soaring power-pop/melodic metal. According to Chloe the band’s heavy gig schedule takes its toll on the band’s equipment so Skarlett Riot are certainly looking forward to welcoming a cool new Vintage axe into the fold, “We are gigging all the time at the moment but we can’t afford to buy a new guitar”, Donna explains, “ We dont get paid for gigging and we are always fi nding faults with our equipment at the moment!”
With a brand new Vintage guitar from JHS in their lineup, Skarlett Riot can rest assured that they will hit the stage brimming with confi dence.
