Wilfredo Rodriguez is a performance award-winning elec- tronics engineer, with more than a decade of defense acqui- sition experience. He joined NAVAIR in 1987, as a project engineer in avionics and electronic warfare systems. Since then, he has held progressive positions at Patuxent River, where he has led teams of project engineers, technicians and support personnel involved with the study, research, and development of electronic warfare, aircraft assets, emerging and future technologies, and avionics systems. He implemented a systems engineering analysis approach to minimize a fan catastrophic safety hazard of a lockup condi- tion within cost, schedule and performance and focused on critical information such as the fan redesign in Mission Computers including installation and safety assessments to draw an effective recommendation for the flight clearance approval of the F-18 and X-47 platforms. The X-47B made a successful first flight on February 4, 2011 at Edwards AFB.
