only one. I focus on similarities with others while building relationships to break the ice, but it is what sets us apart from others that makes us unique and interesting, which is why I share those as well.”


In his five years with the com- pany, Franco has worked in manufacturing and operations in the United States, Canada, Africa and the Middle East, supervising as many as 30 other professionals as operational excellence lead. He helped the company roll out Lean Six Sigma deployment to field operations overseas, establishing numerous continuous improvement projects and generating millions of dollars in cost reduction for the company, he says. Hallibur- ton operates in more than 70 countries.


Franco credits Halliburton managers for help- ing to guide his career through mentorship and opportunity by encouraging him to move into different roles within the company to gain overseas experience. His priorities in 2011 within his team are to reduce non-productive time, improve health and safety records and enhance business, he says.

Franco holds an industrial engineering degree from Texas A&M University and earned a Lean Bronze Certification from the Society of Manufacturing Engineers. He expects to graduate in December 2011 from The University of Texas at Dallas’ Global M.B.A. program.
