never seen a square pizza before and gobbled it up like it was my last chance to eat for a week. It was fantastic! Then my buddy ordered the meatball platter… damn! I wish I had saved room for that! Along with the very reasonably priced beverages, we always left happy and satisfied. We recently visited the

Prescott and are happy to report that these two staples remain on the menu and are just as good now as they were then – thank God for some things not changing. A couple of other changes did happen during its history. They stopped renting rooms in 1978, and women were finally allowed in the main bar in 1976, but the draft beer was cheap like borscht and the service was something to watch. Those guys could run around that place with trays full of beer and food so fast you never went thirsty, or hungry. Later, in the 90s, our work ball league (beer ball – nothing too strenuous, but highly competitive and talented in our minds) used to gather on Friday nights at the Prescott for post-game commiserating or celebrating and the music – some great bands and celebrities have graced the Prescott. Alas, marriage and parenting life took over and my visits to the Prescott became few and far between. Today, the Prescott has

evolved into more family- oriented atmosphere; there are even highchairs available now! Upstairs you will also find Yuk Yuk’s second location if you are in the mood for a decent, inexpensive meal followed by a good laugh. All in all it is still a great place to go, hang out, watch and talk sports, so get the family or the lads together and go have a trip down memory lane. And lie to the kids about how good you were at ball.
