For 71 years, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan has been a proud resident of Detroit. From our headquarters building on Lafayette Boulevard in Detroit, we commit ourselves every day to fulfi lling a unique mission: to make quality health care accessible to every man, woman and child in Michigan.
Our decision to move approximately 3,000 of our suburban employees to the GM Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit positions us to continue that mission far into the future. Creating a single southeast Michigan campus for 6,000 employees lowers our operational costs, invigorates our diverse company culture and supports the performance of all our people. It also helps strengthen the heart of Detroit and the region.
As Blue Cross refl ects on seven decades of heritage and looks toward the future, we are committed to creating healthier Michigan communities. In Grand Rapids, Lansing and Detroit, the presence of our enterprise employees in core urban centers is the foundation of that commitment.
