I am running for Congress in the 13th District to help save neighborhoods like the one that I was born and raised in. I want to offer hope and opportunity to people. I will do this because my closest childhood friends were either murdered, incarcerated, or permanently traumatized.
I serve in public office because I know, from personal experience, that government can help people when they are in need. When I lost my family by age 19, my college scholarship, and then my income– it was a job created by Congress, through the CETA program, that provided me with a second chance.
As your congressman, I will work to provide people in this region with similar opportunities that I received from Congress when I needed it. I will change the current arrogant political culture through leading by example– I will only serve the people.
I will continue to fight to change the system so that government serves the public, not politicians.
It’s time for change!
