Sport Development Advisor

The English Federation of Disability Sport’s mission is to increase and sustain the participation of disabled people in grass roots, mainstream and elite sport. It does this by working with Sport England, National Governing Bodies of Sport and other partners, and with the 2012 Paralympics and Olympics around the corner what better time to be getting people passionate about sport.
The organisation is relocating to Sportpark at Loughborough University and is in the process of recruiting a new management team to lead the EFDS and deliver the Board’s vision.
This role, within the partnership team, is core to the success of the organisation; working closely with National Governing Bodies of Sport building really effective partnerships and delivering high quality customer focused advice, support and consultancy that helps them to increase the range and scope of opportunities for disabled people.
Candidates will have an outstanding track record in sports development, understand the way sport operates at a national, regional and local level, and have experience of creating effective partnerships and an understanding of the current issues in the promotion and development of sport for disabled people.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Centre Manager to oversee our business by managing and developing the following core businesses:
* Water Sports and Activities, including educational programmes
* Accommodation 23 rooms with 43 beds, with conferencing facilities
* Hiring out space for car and boat parking, pontoon access, hire of unit spaces to residential clubs
Duties will entail working collaboratively with partners’ agencies in developing and monitoring the centre’s activities.
Educated to degree level in a Management discipline, with relevant work experience, you will have an in depth knowledge of a range of leisure and local businesses.
A friendly, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, you will have leadership skills allied to experience of budget management, ability to deal with the public and use Microsoft Offi ce packages.
You will also have the ability to achieve objectives, demonstrate initiative and make decisions as well as liaise with a range of national agencies in order to develop the hospitality and sports provision. You will possess excellent communication and problem solving skills and have the ability to work fl exibly to meet the needs of the Centre.
