However, more than three quarters

Questions were also asked by the audience with the most popular considering whether low oil prices and strong airline profitability made the case for resolving labour issues with the trade unions harder.

Visit Belfast will host Routes Europe 2017 with support from Belfast City Council, Tourism Northern Ireland, Tourism Ireland, Belfast International Airport and George Best Belfast City Airport. With more than 1,200

Jet2.com celebrated the success of its Newcastle-Kraków route with the launch of a second service to the Polish city from Manchester. The twice weekly flight was

launched on April 28 using a Boeing 737-300 and the airline’s head of planning David Neill used the fact that Routes Europe was being held in Kraków to promote the launch. He said: “It has been lovely in

the week ahead of this launch to see the city first-hand during the Routes Europe programme and experience why Kraków is growing in popularity as a destination. I have been very impressed.” Jet2.com announced the growth

into Poland’s second largest city in June last year alongside flights to Naples in Italy and Girona on the Costa Brava in what is its largest programme from Manchester. The airline will directly compete with low-cost carrier Ryanair on the route. Neill said he expected a 50/50

split on the new link between package and seat-only sales, adding: “With our tour operator business Jet2holidays we are also able to offer our own holiday and city break packages on the route, so are prepared to compete with others in this market.” This second route into Kraków

may lead to additional future capacity into the Polish city either through increased frequencies or even new links from Jet2.com’s seven other UK bases.
