YVONNE’S SALES TIPS

✪ Suggest Boston and Cape Cod as a twin centre, or combine Boston with the Caribbean. There are direct flights to the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, St Thomas, St Maarten, Turks and Caicos Islands, Aruba, Bahamas or Saint Lucia – perfect for honeymooning couples.

✪ Pre-book excursions so customers don’t have to worry about trying to arrange their days in the city on arrival.

✪ Boston provides a more relaxed city break than New York. For some couples, the ‘Big Apple’ can be a bit too much.

✪ The flight is only about seven hours. If clients are considering Dubai for a few days, they should also think of Boston and Cape Cod.

ABOUT OUR SPONSORS

Travel Weekly Cover Stars 2015 is running in association with sponsors Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism and Brand USA, travel partner Virgin Holidays and makeover partner Simon Shopping Destinations.

YVONNEON RETAIL THERAPY Yvonne Powell would never have thought of sending clients to Massachusetts for a special trip such as a honeymoon but, having visited, she now can’t rate it highly enough.

“I loved it,” she says. “Boston is a great city

for shopping, choice of food, bars, views and history. The Boston Duck Tour was great fun. The views from the Skywalk Observatory were fabulous and it was such a unique experience going into the ice bar.”

Being able to twin the city with Cape Cod

gives holidaymakers the chance to experience a city and seaside holiday in one. “I had heard of Cape Cod but never been. You could even go there as a single centre for a week or 10

days. There are beaches, shopping and lovely places to visit such as Nobska Lighthouse and Plymouth Rock. It was a picture postcard – how you’d expect old New England to look.”
