Kek-Gardner & Manchester University gain funding for a joint project from “Innovate UK”

under the Knowledge Transfer Partnership Scheme (KTP) for a study into improved fine mechanical milling equipment.

K The project, which has a duration of 3 years, will develop

the company's next generation of fine size reduction mills using innovative mechanical engineering techniques and will involve a research associate employed by the University working extensively at Kek- Gardner, whilst having full access to the University's resources.

A further aim of the project will be to "embed" within Kek- Gardner advanced data management and computer aided design

ek-Gardner is extremely pleased to announce that in association with “The University of Manchester” they have been successful in obtaining backing from “Innovate UK”

and modelling techniques including FEM & CFD thus enabling the company to offer enhanced support to its customer base.

The project will be overseen by a team consisting of Senior

University Academics from the School of Mechanical, Aeronautical and Civil Engineering together with Kek-Gardner management, their task being not only to provide project management, but also to ensure full support, guidance and mentoring is given during this major project.

We at Kek-Gardner are excited at the prospect of undertaking

this work in partnership with the University and Innovate UK. The knowledge and experience gained during the course of the exercise will be mutually beneficial to all parties.
