FJ NEW LAUNCH HARROGATE PREVIEW Contents FIRST WORDS Welcome to our Harrogate and

Spring/Summer 2015 Apparel issue. Inside our bumper issue we preview what’s likely to be hot at the 2014 Golf Show including some attractive supplier offers. Our Apparel Guide is also our

biggest yet with over 40 brands showcasing information for next year’s Spring/Summer. As ever, we also offer you two retail competitions,

this time from Glenbrae and retail specialist toinfinity. I hope you all enjoyed the wonderful scenes from

Gleneagles over last weekend where Europe comfortably secured another Ryder Cup, their eighth in the last ten attempts. Although it wasn't a vintage Ryder Cup, the post-competition press conference was perhaps the most compelling viewing of the weekend. Although some of Tom Watson’s tactics were rather questionable, the manner in which Phil Mickelson decided to stick the knife in, presumably due to being leſt out on Saturday, leſt a rather bad taste. There is a time and a place and I thought it was poor from Leſty. Although excellent to watch, you had to feel sorry

for Watson, the nicest man in golf. I think it does show why Europe have had the upper hand over the past few years; you can’t manufacture that team spirit and unquestionably Europe have had this in abundance over the years. I look forward to seeing you all at Harrogate.

Enjoy the issue.
