“I love the florals because it is part of nature, I love color, and I love things that make you happy. It’s simple; that’s what I enjoy.” — Gloria Lee
Introduced to art at an early age, Gloria Lee was inspired to create, paint and share her vivid view of nature’s beauty. Her paintings breathe and exhale the colors of the 60s Pop art and the essence of both Vincent Van Gogh and Jackson Pollock. The intensity and dedication of her floral art works is easily perceived. There is a flow of harmony within each of her paintings that invites the viewer into a world of bliss. For Lee, art is definitely a substantial part of life. Her inspirations, she states, come from “the beauty of both color and nature.” Flowers’ representation in art have varied throughout centuries, yet they have always represented much more than just beauty. Gloria Lee’s flowers radiate the unseen yet present relationship between humanity and nature. Her choices of colors and texture are expressed with both boldness and aesthetic simplicity. With the uniquely loose and varied brush strokes, layers and use of impasto, she undoubtedly gives each of her paintings a life and personality of their own.
