Gordon's Service

Experts 5 A local company with a passion for service

by Brianna Wall T

he day I visited Gordon’s Service Experts in Moore/South Oklahoma City, Lucas Plunk, general manager, and Dave Watson, residential

sales consultant, were installing a demo solar panel in the conference room of their South Sunnylane office. I wasn’t aware at the time, but I would soon learn of the many new ways in which Gordon’s is advancing to become more than just another heating and air company. Lucas and Dave both agreed educating people

on energy efficiency is of vital importance. Tey even taught me a few things that day, like the best time for routine maintenance of my heating and air conditioning system is in the fall so it will perform at its best during the sometimes-harsh Oklahoma winters. Tis is important whether your heat source is gas or electric. I will have to remember to add this to my husband’s honey-do list. I also learned Gordon’s is diving into the world

of geothermal and solar power. Already having installed and serviced several geothermal systems, both Lucas and Dave are looking forward to gathering data to help educate people even more. Teir passion is making a difference in people’s lives by making homes and workplaces comfortable, healthy and safe without breaking the bank. Tey couldn’t wait to tell me all the different ways I can save energy and money, without having to spend a lot up front. If you have been thinking about upgrading your

HVAC system—or if you have a question regarding your current system—now may be a good time to give Lucas or Dave a call. Let them help educate you on all of the energy-saving opportunities you may not even know you have.

Gordon's Service Experts currently offer a free Home Health Report Card for qualifying systems 10 years and older. Tey will evaluate your home's carbon monoxide levels, humidity, filtration, and VOCs (invisible fumes emitted from carpeting, upholstery,

laminate flooring, cleaning products, and other items). Tune-up your system before it breaks. A fall tune- up for your furnace will ensure the system is operating efficiently and save you money on utility costs this winter. It will also identify problems early, so you are not left sitting in the cold—literally—and under

pressure to make a purchase decision. Furnaces over 10 years old have an annual fuel utilization efficiency (AFUE) rating of only 60-80 percent, meaning up to 40 percent of every dollar spent on fuel is wasted. Newer models can go up to 98 AFUE. Use the Energy Savings Calculator at www.serviceexperts.com/About-Us/Energy-Savings- Calculator.aspx, to see how much you would save by upgrading your system to a higher rated AFUE.
