By Heather McLean Showing at IBC today is Mediative webTv, a suite of services from Cominweb that is designed to complete a user’s web communication needs. Thanks to Mediative's embedded back office, users can customise web and video player interface and colours, upload video without worrying about encoding, or find them on Youtube, Dailymotion and

Vimeo through Cominweb’s integration smart tool, all in a few clicks. Users are able to broadcast

programmes on Mediative and automatically have them encoded in SD and HD (ready for VoD), and have them managed and indexed through Cominweb’s asset management smart tool. Mediative also manages natively second screen realtime interactions through the RTCPC protocol, and integrates a media timeline and playlist navigation tools, geopositioning

of media, comments and information on all medias, and of course social network interactions. Mediative is coded in HTML5 and therefore compatible with a wide range of media devices.

Also in development at Cominweb is Lay.io, an online tool designed to meet the requirements of interactive design solutions. It is being designed to incorporate simple, collaborative and scalable applications for connected management. 2.B39i

Completing web needs: the new Mediative suite

MADI streams turn ports transparent RME By Paul Watson

As far as RME is concerned, its new MADI Router provides unlimited flexibility for multichannel audio.

The unit has four groups of

three different MADI I/Os each, and can be used as a patch bay and format converter between those 12 bridged MADI streams. Apart from the ‘fully transparent, stream-wise operation’ between its ports, RME says it supersedes the

well-known MADI Bridge by letting users create output signals that combine audio channels from different MADI inputs (any-to-any). The device is controlled

directly at the unit, where a full- colour TFT display informs the user about the current input

status and routing situation. Channels from any input group can be copied to different output groups in blocks, which provides a high level of flexibility, while maintaining clarity and easy access, the company claims. In addition, presets can be

stored both on the device itself and on an attached USB memory stick, which also handles all firmware updates. The MADI Router comes complete with RME redundant power supplies and benefits from RME’s redundancy mode support. 8.A11
